Improving access to water for severely drought-affected communities
More than 12 million people are currently affected by the drought in the Horn of Africa, one of the major humanitarian crises in the region for decades. This 3-month emergency project is aimed at providing 1,000 households (6,000 individuals) in Samburu county with a daily water supply until the next rainy season. Through community mobilization and erecting a 5,000-liter water tank in each community, ACTED will provide each family with a 20-liter jerry can and 60 Vouchers for Water, while raising beneficiaries’ awareness to the importance of drinking clean water.
