Improving access to land and markets for remote communities through critical bridge repair

Raga county, in Western Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan, is an extremely isolated area where communities are often cut off from the rest of the country during the six month rainy season, due to poor road infrastructure. This isolation hinders local residents’ ability to access nearby farmland, as well as needed services and markets. ACTED is therefore working with the Ministry of Agriculture to improve the region feeder road infrastructure. In July, ACTED completed the construction of a critical bridge in the remote town of Bambara, realized with the financial support of the Government of South Sudan Ministry of Agriculture.
