“Food Right Now in Uganda”

From production to sales, improving food security by acting at all levels

In Uganda, different types of projects have been set up to fight food insecurity, from production to sales.

With Food Right Now, the young people participated in a training on the advantages of the animal traction method. Cultivating land with the strength of cows increases agricultural production and ultimately higher income for the poorest farmers.

On top of the agriculture in itself, developing techniques for selling produce is also a means of improving farmers’ everyday lives and food security. A Satellite Collection Point, built by ACTED allows farmers to get together to stock their agricultural produce and to sell at higher prices.

Finally, ACTED participates in building and rehabilitating infrastructure that is needed for farmer food security (such as roads to transport produce, markets to sell produce, water points, etc.) in the North of Uganda.
