Enhancing the capacity of civil society to promote women’s rights and economic empowerment in Myanmar
This 18-month project will focus on the capacity building of the civil society organization Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs’ Association (MWEA), aimed at 1,369 women entrepreneurs, 50 businesses, 10 regional authorities, 500 members of the public, and 10 million radio listeners, for a final target of more than 24 million women comprising the formal workforce. By developing assessments and policies, with associated outreach activities, the institutional and operational capacity of the MWEA, as a platform advocating for and advancing women’s economic empowerment, will be strengthened, and the public’s awareness to women’s rights in the country will be enhanced.
