Emergency support during the lean period for the populations affected by the food and nutritional crises in the Sahelian Strip in Chad

The project will take place in the department of Wayi (Lake region) and Batha East (Batha region) for a period of 6 months starting May 1, 2017. ACTED will support 7,000 households or 49,000 people ( 7 persons per household), classified as very poor by outcomes analyzed (HEA), and having children under 5 years of age and pregnant and lactating women (FEFA). ACTED's intervention will initially take the form of emergency aid through seasonal cash transfers conditional on participation in awareness-raising sessions for 7,000 households during the lean period, enabling them to To meet their basic food needs. These distributions will be combined with distributions of food supplements (CSB + / ++) for children aged 6 to 23 months and FEFA to combat their occupational insecurity.
