Emergency support to drought affected households in Northern Kenya to improve hygiene and access to water

In order to respond to the current drought crisis, ACTED intends to implement a WASH nutrition-sensitive intervention, to address the immediate WASH needs of the most affected communities in Baringo and Samburu counties; in particular in sub-counties with clear gaps in service provision. ACTED’s main objective will be to contribute to addressing WASH as a key causal factor of malnutrition, by providing comprehensive WASH support through the rehabilitation of strategic boreholes. Different aspects of the proposed project including aquatabs distribution, hygiene sensitization and the training of hygiene promoters and water management committees will ensure sustainable access to clean water. This intervention will target approximately 30,000 people.
