Emergency Project to mitigate the effects of La Nina drought in Middle Juba Region, South Somalia
In the past 5 years, drought, floods and the security situation have led to the worst humanitarian crisis in Somalia since the famine of 1991-1992. ACTED addresses production gaps by reinforcing livelihoods for concerned households. Agricultural inputs should benefit 6,600 agro-pastoral and riverine households through Food for Work schemes . The 385 most vulnerable househols will receive a 3-month food basket. The 9-month project should therefore benefit some 7,000 people.
