Congo Republic: Cholera epidemic still strong

BRAZZAVILLE [ACTED News] – The cholera epidemic is still striking the Congo, with new victims still being detected. 1,033 cases were registered since January, according to a report by the World Health organization published last month. The city of Brazzaville now has a count of 169 cases, including 8 deaths. The Oubangui and Brazzaville communities along the Congo River are the hardest hit. ACTED is carrying out hygiene awareness raising in the most vulnerable neghborhoods of the capital city to mitigate the epidemic.
