Celebrations for World Water Day in Jordan

On March 22nd, ACTED celebrated the importance of water and its conservation on the occasion of World Water Day with activities in Mafraqgovernorate, and Za’atari and King Abdullah Park refugee camps, with the support of UNICEF. World Water Day holds special significance in Jordan, which is one of the countries most affected by water scarcity.

Activities involved children, who learnt about the importance of water and water conservation through games, songs and role plays. They took place during the sessions organised in all ACTED community centres, Joumana school of Za’atari camp and ACTED centre in King Abdullah Park.

In collaboration with the Community-Based Organisation Sama al-Badia, ACTED held an awareness session in Mafraq to introduce the local community to practices and technologies used to preserve and save water, including hydroponics systems.
