Alliance2015- joint ACTED/CESVI evaluation in Oriental Province

In the last two years, the inhabitants of Oriental Province, North-East of DRC, have been the victims almost daily attacks from the armed opposition forces, in particular the Lord’s Resistance Army, the most ancient rebel group still active in Africa. The inhabitant of the districts of Low and High Uele regularly flee their villages to join the urban centers or find refuge in the bush country. Collecting water and cultivating the field have become high risk practices. The humanitarian access to these zones has been constrained, given the high insecurity. It is in this context that ACTED/CESVI, both members of the Alliance2015, have launched a joint evaluation mission during the second half of the month of October 2010 in the High Uele, in order to define a united intervention strategy in this area and respond to the needs of the most vulnerable in this region.
