ACTED-PSF exceeds HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention targets
PHNOM PENH [ACTED News] – Since October 2006 ACTED-PSF has undertaken HIV/AIDS prevention activities among high-risk groups in Phnom Penh with the support of The Global Fund. Having recently wrapped up the project, ACTED-PSF’s project implementation has impressively exceeded its targets. 155,676 people received diagnosis and treatment for STIs (119.4% of the intended target), while a further 31,290 were referred for outside counseling and testing (118.7% of intended target). Outreach education on STIs and HIV/AIDS was delivered to 136,729 female entertainment and sex workers and 163,483 men (119.4 and 108.5% of intended targets). Funded by USAID to continue HIV/AIDS prevention projects until August 2012, ACTED-PSF will continue to be able to deliver education and healthcare to those people that need it most.
