ACTED Philippines Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) team conducts rapid assessment of Cotabato Floods

Consistent heavy rains the last week has caused a ‘state of calamity’ in Cotabato City as the Rio Grande De Mindanao River overflowed, flooding all 37 barangays. A total of 91,537 people have been affected, forcing 8,259 displaced people into evacuation centers.

ACTED Philippines RRM team immediately conducted a rapid assessment of the affected barnagays, highlighting the need for basic hygiene items, sanitation facilities, food packages and non-food items. As the rains continue and flood water rise, people are unsure of when they will be able to return home, or to what they will return to.
